High strength, professional quality, an insecticidal powder containing permethrin for the control of case-bearing clothes moth, aka carpet moth (Tinea pellionella) and varied carpet beetle (Anthrenus verbasci)

To gain full control of an infestation the treatment must be applied to the source of the main activity. The insecticidal powder is an excellent control method however users must understand that carpet moth and beetle can have ecosystems that go undetected for several years resulting in a continuation of activity if missed.

If eaten spots are visibly seen on the surface of the carpet it is highly likely that the underside of the carpet will have significantly more damage. Application of the insecticidal powder should be undertaken to the underside of the carpet and lightly powdered to the top. Continually treating the top side of the carpet may never fully eradicate the problem.

Carpet beetle, and lesser extent carpet moth, are often associated with decomposing bodies of birds and rodents, abandoned nesting and bird guano. If beetles are coming from chimneys or attics we would recommend that users investigate fully these areas for any likely sources. Removal of the source is always the first step, and often only requires a light treatment to remove any remaining adults.
