Entopest IMM moth pheromone has been designed specifically for the control of Plodia interpunctella (Indian meal moth) and some close family sub-species. It will not work with other species of moth.

The Entopest IMM Moth Pheromone Trap emits an artificial moth sex pheromone (lure) to attract male moths to the non-escapable sticky board. Attracting male moths helps to break the lifecycle and subsequently helps to control established infestations. The traps can also be used as a proactive method to catch male moths before they establish or as an indicator for any infestations that may be established in the property.

It is important to note that The Entopest IMM Moth pheromone is particular to Plodia interpunctella. The lure is partially attractive to some other closely related species including other sub-species within the Plodia family as well as the closely related Ephestia family.

This listing does not include trap hangers. Please see our kits that combine pheromone with trap hangers if required. We would recommend the hangers are used to prevent the sticky glue coming into contact with food items, which can be difficult to remove.

The pheromone glue pads contain a slow-release pheromone attractant which is impregnated into the glue; no additional attractant tablets are needed. Once the sticky pad peel has been removed, the pads will last for approximately 8-12 weeks, but this can be reduced in dusty environments. It is important to check the traps regularly to ensure they remain sticky.

Pheromone traps should not be considered the sole method of control, especially in large infestations. Other treatment methods to compliment trapping should be undertaken including insecticidal smoke, power and sprays, preferably to areas of activity. Pheromone traps should be considered an important factor in locating active sources.
