In the UK, we have numerous species of moths that can cause an issue with both domestic and commercial properties; whilst most are harmless that are often confused with more common variants such as the common clothes moth; treatments for these less common species are more universal in their control and generally do not have a specific method of treatment.
If you are unsure of the moth species, please use our free identification service. Once the ID has been confirmed, using resources such as Wikipedia will help understand the type of moth, their feeding and habitation preferences; the majority of moths will usually have a source that needs to be identified and removed. An example would be the Wax Moth (Galleria mellonella) which is a species of moth often found around a house but will likely be coming from an adjacent bee hive in the attic or chimney; removal of the hive is essential. Otherwise, the issue will continue and whilst insecticide may help limit their numbers, it is unlikely to control them.
Unless specifically advertised, we do not make any pheromones for moths away from our core species of moths (Common clothes moth & Indian meal moth); users will be able to use all our other control methods as they are more universal in their design. Using an insecticide spray on active surfaces will control any activity; insecticide powders in enclosed spaces and voids are highly recommended as the moth species is unlikely to avoid contact and also aerosol and smoke insecticides for killing activity present within a room at time of treatment
